HOW TO CREATE AN ANIMATED PUZZLE?
Making an animated puzzle for you students can be a fun way of reviewing vocabulary and/or geography .
SOFTWARE USED
  • Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Adobe Image Ready
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Import a photo into Photoshop
  2. Switch to ImageReady (Shift+Ctrl+M)
  3. Using the Slice Tool cut Photo up in as many different pieces as you want to.
  4. File> Save optimized as> save as type> Images Only (.gif). That will export all the cut up puzzle pieces into the folder of your choice
  5. Open up PowerPoint
  6. Import each .gif puzzle piece
  7. Arrange all the pieces, so they make a complete picture again.
  8. Click on one Puzzle Piece
  9. Click on Slide Show > Custom Animation
  10. Choose what kind of Entrance you want that Puzzle Piece to have (Ex. fly in, boomerang, stretch, etc.)
  11. Repeat steps 8-10 with as many Puzzle pieces as you have.
