PowerPoint has been overused to the point of audiences being exhausted by spinning text, pictures flying in from the right or left or plain boring lecture outlines. The program has gotten a bad reputation over the last few years, but don't discard it yet...
You will find that PowerPoint is so much more than merely a presentation/lecture program, but that you can adapt it to create your own games, assessments, grammar reviews as well as story board and graphic organizer, visual representations of vocabulary to be practiced, fun puzzles and many more possibilities only limited by your imagination.
Give PowerPoint some of your time and explore and play with its features. You can be assured that you will find a way to adapt the program to "digitize" something that you have been doing in your classroom for years. Now you are able to give it new life with a technology twist. Your students will love it.
