Groundhog Day- Predictions

Groundhog day is just around the corner.
First graders predicted if the groundhog would see his shadow, hence signaling six more weeks of winter.
The class discussed the results of their graph:

How many students predict that the groundhog will (not) see its shadow?
Did more students predict six more weeks of winter or more students predicting spring [...]

Exploring Clip Art with Kindergarten

Kindergarten students are exploring clip art in Microsoft Word. They are:

searching for
inserting
resizing
rotating
deleting

At the same time, they are practicing keyboarding skills, spelling, mouse manipulation and fine motor skills.
Kindergartener’s favorite searches for clip art included:

animals
dog
cat
bird

Around The World With 80 Schools

SJEDS is taking on the challenge of connecting our students (PreK- through 6th grade)  to at least 80 different schools in order to circle the globe once.
We will be connecting with other school through Skype (a video conference program) to say Hello, Hola, Ni Hao, Shalom, Hallo, etc…
Students will learn about:

cultural awareness
global awareness
global collaboration
technology integration
