We celebrated Roald Dahl day at our school on Tuesday the 13th of September. Roald Dahl is a very good author and the reason we celebrated on the 13th of September is because that was when it was Roald Dahl’s birthday.
All of the Grade 2 children dressed up as a Roald Dahl character. We did rotations around each grade 2 classroom. I dressed up as Fantastic Mr. Fox from the book, Fantastic Mr. Fox.
I got to see all the kids in different costumes like, Miss Honey from Matilda, Mike Teavee, Charlie Bucket, Veruca Salt, Willy Wonka from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
We did different activities based on Roald Dahl’s books. I got to make an enormous crocodile, Willy Wonka, roly poly bird, fantastic mr fox mask and a mouse from the Witches!
Do you celebrate Roald Dahl Day in your country?
Do you think I had a fun time?
Do you have Roald Dahl books in your country? If so, I would love to know your favourite book!
Are your books written in English or a different language?
I’m looking forward to hearing your responses!

Koala Lou,
You looked GREAT in your costume. Very clever! It looks like you had a very fun time with your friends at school.
We do not celebrate Roald Dahl day here in Florida in USA. I have read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and I have seen the movie Matilda
Just by looking at the pictures, you made me want to go to the library and check more books out by Roald Dahl.
Thank you! I love reading.
To Travelbear,
Thank you for commenting on my post. That’s interesting that you don’t celebrate Roald Dahl Day.
Who is your favourite author? I want to start reading some more books, maybe you have some good suggestions for me!
From KoalaLou
I love Roald Dahl! One of the students in my class is reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory right now and my teacher LOVES Matilda! I might try to get my teacher to do something for Roald Dahl day next year-that sounds like lots of fun.
I do not celebrate Roald Dahl day. It sounds
very fun. My favorite book is The Witches. I wish my class celebrated Roald Dahl day. Perhaps we will celebrate it next year.
Dear Koala Lou,
Your celebration of Roald Dahl day sounds like so much fun! We like his stories too. What do you celebrate in December? We have our winter break in 2 weeks. And many of us are getting ready to celebrate Christmas, Hannukah, or Kwanza. Our days are getting very short – and it’s dark by 5:00 p.m.!

Dear Koala Lou,
This sounds like so much fun! I really like all the things you made! We celebrate Dr. Seuss in March. Have you heard of him?
