Explosion only 12 blocks away from us.

We are staying about 12 blocks away from the explosion that happened on 42nd and Lexington at my cousin’s apartment. We noticed lots of sirens on the streets and heard that there was an explosion of a transformer. A few minutes later my mother called from Argentina, since she heard of another possible Terrorist attack in the news and was worried.

We have been watching the news on TV and in a few minutes the mayor is supposed to give a press conference. It is NOT terrorism related, but a steam explosion.

We finally arrived in New York, after we had to touch down in Atlantic City, because our plane did not have enough fuel to wait in a loop above La Guardia. Everything worked out though and it only delayed us for about 50 minutes.
