Holiday Traditions Around The World
Through Wes Fryer’s Blog, I encountered a Holiday Traditions Around the World VoiceThread. What a great story to let our students listen to continue our efforts of raising global awareness among them. Many people might celebrate Christmas, but not necessarily the same way. Some people associate Santa Claus as the guy in shorts, because he comes during the hottest months of the year during summer break. Yet others don’t celebrate Christmas at all, but enjoy the celebration of a different kind of miracle during the holiday season. I plan to show the VoiceThread to my teachers after the break and encourage them to collaborate with their own Holiday Traditions.

If you are looking for another site about cultural traditions, life cycle events and customs from the point of view of a Teddy Bear <G>, check out Teddy Bears Around the World. So far we have Thanksgiving in Alabama/USA, Hanukkah in Florida/USA, a weekend in the life of a Kindergartener in South Carolina/USA and wedding traditions in the South. You can listen to a VoiceThread, a podcast and look at photos from traveling Teddy Bears in China, Egypt, and France. More countries coming soon.We are looking forward to more global collaboration.. any media is fine. Contact me through Langwitches or the Teddy Bears blog for more information on how to participate.
